Staff Day Out to the Ayala Museum

The Leyende staff went for a much-deserved afternoon out to the Ayala Museum. After a brief orientation on museum regulations and proper behavior (and after ensuring everyone’s phones were on silent mode), we began our tour of the museum.

French-Filipino artist Olivia D’Aboville’s exhibit, Chasm of Fantasies, immediately captured the staff’s attention. Recycled materials such as plastic cups, utensils, discarded fish nets and nylon were fashioned into figures that resembled marine animals and corals. The staff were amazed with the breathtaking underwater effect produced by simple black light and artful placing of the art objects.

An amazing collection of Philippine art from the Purita Kalaw-Ledesma collection was at the Third Floor Gallery. The staff took their time in appreciating the paintings and sculpture from the country’s masters of art, such as Vicente Manansala, Carlos Botong Francisco, Victorio Edades and Napoleon Abueva.

The Dioramas on Philippine history and the Boat Gallery were the last stop for the Leyende staff, giving deeper meaning to the history lessons they learned in school.

Conversation about this enriching experience continued among the staff over coffee and snacks before heading home. Here’s a group photo from that wonderful afternoon:

Lifestyle Network’s MOMWORKS was at the Leyende Head Office a few weeks ago to interview us and to get a glimpse of how we mix our high-quality handmade products. Lovely host Maricel Laxa Pangilinan (shown here on the cover of Working Mom magazine) was very professional and helped the staff feel at ease. The segment airs July 18 (Sunday) 8:30pm; July 19 (Monday) 3:30pm, July 21 (Wednesday) 10:30am, July 23 (Friday) 9:30pm, July 24 (Saturday) 10:00am.

top natual/organic beauty picks in mega’s beauty awards issue

Mega magazine’s annual Beauty Awards issue is one of the most awaited publications every year. It features the annual Beauty Awards which include their editors’ top picks for beauty products in different categories. It’s always sold out by the time I try to buy one from the newstands or bookstores.

But this year, I got my own copy of Mega because two of our Leyende products were given recognition in this issue!

It’s very important for us to receive feedback from our customers, especially the modern Moms who are well-educated and conscientious about the products their family use.

It made our day that one such modern Mom (who is quite the knockout, too!), Tricia Data, had this to say about Leyende:

I love this because it’s not heavy and sticky as well. It feels light on the skin, the cocoa scent is not heavy, it’s rather YUMMY and leaves your skin moisturized. Since I have a growing belly, it also eliminates the “itchies” thus preventing more stretchmarks (oh yes, I still have some since my first pregnancy and I am now on the look out for a remedy without having to get a tummy tuck!)
